A yōshoku bistro, glowing in a backstreet
Location
A backstreet in Yaraicho, Kagurazaka. As the sun sets and the wind falls still — the "evening calm" the restaurant is named for — the lights come on in a small twelve-seat bistro. The scent of demi-glace; roll cabbage finished with five sauces; omurice over a house pilaf. Unfussy plates you will want again tomorrow.
Information
The spirit of Yuunagi
Identity
"Yuunagi" is the windless lull at dusk, when the land breeze and the sea breeze change places and the air goes still — the quietest moment of the day. We hope to be a place, and a plate, that lets your shoulders drop just like that. In a Kagurazaka backstreet, chef-owner Shinya Kamata cooks yōshoku with care. He went independent in 2019; after a 2023 renewal, this is the Yuunagi of today.
Care, served as a feast
Honest cooking
Ginger pork marinated over two days; roll cabbage with five sauces to choose from. We value not flash but the steady kind of good you never tire of. Served fresh, across the counter.
We give ingredients and prep our full attention, and serve unpretentious yōshoku with heart — a relaxed hour whether you come alone or with someone who matters.
A small bistro at dusk
A small bistro of just twelve counter seats — warm light, the grain of wood, the smell of food fresh off the heat. Like the evening calm itself, a place to breathe out. Please, take your time.
The signature plates
The signature plates
The Yuunagi specialité — roll cabbage stew with five sauces. Omurice over a house pilaf. Two-day ginger pork. Thick-cut pork steak. Every one of them a signature of this little place.

A glass to ease
into the evening
A glass in the evening
We pour wine, beer and highballs to sit beside the food — a glass of red with a demi-glace plate, a little sparkling with the omurice. An unhurried evening, glass in hand.
A moment called Yuunagi
